ACM SIGSIM award presented for long-term impact in modeling and simulation.

Prof. Emer. Helen (Eleni) Karatza has been presented with the ACM SIGSIM Distinguished Contributions Award in recognition of her long-term, impactful contributions to the modeling & simulation community. Her research spans decades, encompassing technical innovation, performance evaluation of distributed systems, editorships in major journals, and extensive mentoring and service to the community. Prof. Karatza is Professor Emerita of the Department of Informatics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

The award was presented during the recent SIGSIM/Winter Simulation Conference activities.
