The Greek ACM-W Chapter is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Distinguished Service Award.

The Greek ACM-W Professional Chapter invites nominations for the Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes individuals who have made outstanding and sustained contributions to advancing gender equity in computer science and the digital professions in Greece.

The award honors impactful service in areas such as advocacy, mentoring, leadership, outreach, program development, and initiatives that promote diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities in computing.

Eligibility:
Nominees must be active members of the Greek computing community and members of the ACM-W Greece Chapter at the time of nomination. Self-nominations are allowed. Members of the Award Committee are not eligible.

Nomination package:
A nomination letter (max 1 page), nominee CV (focused on service and community contributions), and an optional reference list.

 

The recipient will receive a formal certificate and be recognized during the annual ACM Celebration of Women in Computing: Summit on Gender Equality in Computing.

This year, the 8th Summit on Gender Equality in Computing will take place on May 7–8, 2026, in Patras, Greece, where the award will be presented.

The first recipient of the Distinguished Service Award (2025) was Professor Panagiota Fatourou.
