Greek ACM-W Chapter Chair P. Fatourou was Elected Chair of the Steering Committee for the ACM Symposium on Principles of Distributed Computing (PODC).
We are proud to announce that Panagiota Fatourou, Professor at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Crete and Chair of the Greek ACM-W Chapter, has been elected as the Chair of the Steering Committee for the prestigious ACM Symposium on Principles of Distributed Computing (PODC).
The ACM Symposium on Principles of Distributed Computing is a premier international forum dedicated to distributed systems and networks' theory, design, analysis, implementation, and application. Recognized as an A* class conference by all major international classification systems, PODC attracts the most renowned and influential researchers in the field of distributed and parallel computing.
The 43rd edition of the symposium took place in Nantes from June 17-21, 2024. The conference co-sponsors the Edsger W. Dijkstra Prize in Distributed Computing (in conjunction with the EATCS Symposium on Distributed Computing - DISC). Named after the eminent scientist Edsger Wybe Dijkstra (1930-2002), this prize honors outstanding research papers whose significance and impact on the field have been evident for at least a decade.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our Chair, Professor Fatourou, for her remarkable achievement and wish her continued success in her new role.
